A hotel review of Hacienda Del Mar - Los Cabos offers a tranquil escape with its Spanish hacienda-style architecture and a plethora of amenities. My recent stay, while part of a corporate retreat, provided a glimpse into the resort's potential for both large groups and those seeking a relaxing getaway.

My accommodations were in a standard room on the first floor of building 31, a prime location with a patio that opened directly onto the pool area, complete with a swim-up bar. The room itself was clean and well-maintained, boasting ample counter space and a thoughtfully designed shower that prevented water from spilling onto the floor – a welcome change from many hotels.
A quick tip: grab the Wi-Fi information at check-in, as it's not readily available in the rooms.
The check-in process was seamless, thanks to a pre-arranged private shuttle from the airport. Upon arrival, we were greeted by bellhops and welcomed with refreshing fresh-squeezed juice while we checked in.
The resort boasts five pools, ensuring that even during busier periods, finding a place to relax wasn't a struggle. The pool and beach areas were well-maintained and offered plenty of seating.
While I didn't spend much time at the beach itself, I did enjoy several of the on-site dining options. The poolside palapa offered delicious fish tacos, though the Greek salad was a bit disappointing. The service, while friendly and attentive, could be a tad slow at times.
De Cortez, where we had a team dinner, was a highlight. The flatbread, though a bit small for the price, was incredibly flavorful. Breakfast at Tomates on my final day was an overwhelming experience, in the best way possible. The sheer variety of options was impressive, and everything I tried was delicious. However, the real star of the show was the fresh breakfast tacos made outside – an absolute must-try!
To further enhance the relaxation, I indulged in a 55-minute massage at the spa, which was simply glorious – one of the best massages I've ever had. While I didn't utilize the gym myself, my colleagues informed me that it offered a good range of equipment, though it could get crowded at times due to the conference attendees.
The service throughout the resort was consistently friendly and helpful, though it generally stayed within the expected range for a four-star resort. One of the standout moments of my stay was the beach party held on our final night. The resort truly went all out, with open beer and wine bars, bonfires with s'mores fixings, and karaoke. It was a fantastic way to cap off the retreat.
While the overall experience was positive, the beds were a point of concern. I found them to be quite hard, and I could feel the coils in the mattress. This was the only real downside to my stay.
Hacienda Del Mar is an ideal destination for those seeking a relaxing getaway focused on enjoying the resort's amenities. If your primary goal is to explore San Jose del Cabo or Cabo San Lucas, you might consider other options. However, the all-inclusive option available at Hacienda Del Mar makes it perfect for families or anyone looking to simply unwind in the sunshine and take advantage of everything the resort has to offer without venturing elsewhere.
Overall, my stay at Hacienda Del Mar was a great experience, perfectly suited for our corporate retreat. I would definitely recommend it for large group trips, especially those requiring coordinated events like weddings or similar gatherings. The resort's ability to seamlessly host and cater to large groups while maintaining a relaxing atmosphere is a significant asset.
